In the past three years, Iman has fled her war-torn homeland, escaped an abusive relationship, and discovered her eldest child had life-threatening food allergies which have forced them to the hospital multiple times. Finding herself in a domestic violence shelter with her children with no access to information, resources to manage her child’s allergies, and no means to provide safe and nutritious food, Iman was put in touch with AllergyStrong.
AllergyStrong’s mission is to help support those like Iman who struggle to obtain resources and provide basic nutrition to those they love suffering from food allergies and related conditions. AllergyStrong works closely with schools and organizations that are invested in underserved and disadvantaged communities to help support those with food allergies. Whether due to economic circumstances, natural disasters, or unanticipated challenges, AllergyStrong is here to help.
Understanding allergies is the first step in learning how to manage them. And the best way to begin understanding allergies is with accurate information and the insight and perspective of people with firsthand experience. Not knowing where your next meal will come from. Your access to adequate food is limited by a lack of money and other resources. When someone in your family – especially a child – suffers from food allergies – the situation is even worse.
Consulting for restaurants, government agencies as well as businesses with interests in consumers with dietary restrictions. Guiding individuals and families as they begin life with food allergies, approach transitions and prepare to flourish.
